OOOOOOOOOkay.

It's between Eliza or Liza for a girl. I know it's not much of a difference but I'd really like to hear what you guys say about it. If it matters, our last name starts with a D and has 2 syllables.

Also: Just a random thought. I think it's silly to name your child "April" if they are born in, say, November...or name her "Summer" if they are born in the winter. I have a friend who named her daughter Wynter and her birthday is in August! Isn't that weird or am I the only one? LOL

I really like "Eliza", but perhaps I'm biased because one of my favourite characters of all time is Eliza Doolittle from My Fair Lady ^_~

I think it's odd, too! But I'm not a big fan of names that are after seasons or months, anyway, really.

As for your two choices, I prefer Eliza as well. I think its a little more classic, and Liza just reminds me of Liza Minelli. Plus, if you really like the name Liza, you could call her that, even if you name her Eliza...so you get the best of both worlds!

Do either of the names go better with the middle name? Good luck deciding those are both pretty names. I like Eliza a little better because she could have the nn Elle or Ellie if she liked.

I don't mind names that are given out of season. I love the name Noelle and it means 'Christmas', but I would use it anytime of year. It sounds nice, but also brings to mind a lovely snowy winter's night and candles all the other trappings of Xmas. I don't mind being reminded of that in August. Same thing with April, if it reminded you of flowers and springtime, well that's a nice feeling to hold onto all year, I think.

I know alot of people disagree with me though, so you're not the only one. I know somone who thinks it's silly to use the name Ruby for a baby not born in July, which I think takes it a little too far.

I prefer Eliza too, for reasons others already mentioned.

I find it hard to believe that all or even most of the April, June, Mays etc were born in their corresponding month. Summer is one of my favorite names, and I know I wouldn't hesitate to use it at any time of year. :)

I like Eliza... and I think she could probably always used Liza as a nickname then.

As for names like Summer being used at the wrong times... I don't really like any of those names ANYWAY. lol

Eliza is a nice name but I don't really care for it. I also think that's weird yet I like birthstone names like Sapphira and Jade.

my sister's middle name is April, though she was born in January. When she was 14, she met her father and happened to ask about the name. He explained, in public, in his loud voice, that it's when she was conceived.
