[identity profile] tehkiks.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hi! I found this comm through the Lj spotlight, and I'm glad I did! I love names, even though I'm nowhere near close to naming any real babies. My list is embarrassingly long, but some of my favorite names are:

Girls
Caroline
Elspeth (nickname Elsa)
Matilda
Penelope (nickname Nell)
Philippa

Boys
Theodore
William
Tristan
Matthew
Nicholas

What do you think?

I like all your girls names, and Theodore and Nicholas, and the other boys names are fine too. Nothing there offends me in any way :P

Fleur de Lys sounds a little weird, even though I am french.
A nice variation would be Lily (its meaning in english), or Lise/Lyse (Lily in french).

I like Isolda... but prefer the traditional Isolde

I'm a Caroline, I just want to warn you that people often mispronounce it "Carolyn." or just call me Carol. (To which I say, "quoi?") Not to try and turn you off the name Caroline--I love it! (I might be biased...) Anyway, be prepared for that. The nice perk is that no one has found bad nicknames to make from Caroline. I like your other names as well.

A Philippa here. I so rarely meet people who have ever heard my name before! As long as you don't mind spelling it out for people or correcting pronunciation, it's a lovely name.

I do like Penelope, also, though.

I really like those. I love uncommon traditional names.
