Thanks for everyone who replied to my post about the Indian names. I totally agree with all those who thought it might be best to not rip off someone's culture, basically. I think I would only name my child an Indian name if she was actually Indian. I'll certainly adopt, so that's a chance.

That's a great idea. Then they would have a link to their origins.
Am quite partial to Indian names, not sure I'd use any though.

That's totally awesome. I think it's great that you even THOUGHT about the implications of using names from a different culture - that shows sensitivity! Adopting is so wonderful - my aunt and uncle have two sons from Guatemala and a Korean daughter. They are great kids!

I don't agree with that. First of all, it's just a name. If a "white" child had an "indian" name it would just make him or her more unique. It's not ripping off someone's culture. I know TONS of asian/middle eastern people named generic "white" names.
