although me and my boyfriend havent really tried to think of any names yet, he doesnt like anything at all that i have suggested. and eventhough im only 5 months and i still have a long way to go, its really annoying. we cant seem to agree on anything. im really stuck on the name maddox finley genova (for a boy. genova being the last name). i keep calling the baby maddox every chance i get, hoping it will stick with my boyfriend too. anyways, what do you guys think? my only concern is that finley seems to be becoming a fairly popular name. anybody else notice that? ...maybe its just me.

Maddox may be up and coming, with Angelina using it for her kid. But I don't know any Maddoxes around my area. I do know Finleys - and they're all girls.

Ask your guy for a list. If he wants a say in the name, he'd better start participating!

You can tell him that since you've been referring to the baby as Maddox you can't change the name because when he's born, the baby will be confused being called another name. Babies can hear and respond to certain words (names).

oh, man, i sure know the feeling as well. i am 25w 2d and my boyfriend and i cant decide on anything. i want a name that isn't in either of our families..which is extermly hard seeing we have large families and all. but right now i have an idea on a name...but not to sure yet. my boyfriend and i have goten into alot of arguements over her name. he is made because i dont think anything is good enough for her. she has to have the perfectest name in the world (lol i think all mommies are like that). and he just basically doesn't seem to understand where i am coming from. but he also has three other kids from a marriage. and this is my first and maybe my only and i want the greatest name there is...although i think that what you are doing by calling the baby that around him is a good idea. i never thought of that. hope it works!

I'd probably find something that my boyfriend likes, too. Even though it's difficult when you really really love a name and want it. Only if he had no opinion or interest in naming the baby would I name the baby by myself, without his input.


That said, Maddox is a great name. If your boyfriend can't call him Maddox, or Mad for short, or Max for short, or Dox for short... maybe Maddox can be the baby's middle name.
